The bachelor pad… It is the most memorable domain a man can have. This will be the place we talk about with our buddies until the end of days… or the day we get married, which some consider the same thing.
The primary objective for a bachelor pad is to be a cool place to hang, relax, drink, and be entertained alone, or with friends. In order to do so, it is important we invest in some really important and cool house things.
From World of Warcraft to Tour of Duty, a cool adventure or comedy flick, or our favorite movie, everything looks better on a big screen television and sounds better with surround sound. Thus, this should be one of the first things added to the “pad”. The preference would be something which not only our game systems work with, but also the computer and stereo can interlink with.
The end result is a full entertainment system which will allow us and our friends to relax, play games, watch movies and jam to our favorite tunes.
The couch is not always just somewhere to it. There are times when it is your best buddy’s bed for a few nights, and comfort is important. Realistically, it is important to have somewhere to sit, and depending on one’s sense of style, that can be anything from monster pillows, to a sleek, pleather couch and chair. All guys have a unique sense of style, so look for something that says, “take me home”, when sat upon.
A table or two for drinks and snacks is not a bad thing either.
A well stocked bar is one of the highlights when putting together the perfect bachelor pad. We require a certain amount of alcohol in order to function as men, be it beer, whiskey, tequila, vodka, bourbon or wine. The cool thing about stocking our own bar… is stocking our own bar. We can pick our own poison, so to speak.
Blank walls are boring, but neon beer signs, light up frame movie posters and gamer fatboys can really liven the place up, depending on one’s sense of style. Vintage or modern, individual style can really come out with what we put together the perfect bachelor pad. Shelf space can house anything from our favorite action figures to neon gadgets that serve no purpose other than looking cool.
We can get creative with lighting as well by utilizing bar style hanging lights, or weird lamps, like the leg with a shade. Whatever brings out our inner wild man, James Bond or rock star, that is what belongs in our bachelor pad.
This is the room our buddies will not be spending any time in, unless their grabbing a clean shirt. We will be sleeping, and hoping to bring occasional dates into. It has to have a whole personality of its own, and a cool bed.
One of the coolest beds available is a platform bed. This allows for storage underneath, or a cool open space. Platforms can have drawers built in, or we can use some type of storage container. They are available in different types of wood, painted or unpainted. Mind you the unpainted can be pretty cool, as it can be altered however we see fit.
Accessories in the bedroom can be anything from paintings, posters, wall hangings or jerseys. Some cool lighting is always a nice touch, like a strobe or lava lamp. Whatever the style, let it be something unique and memorable check out more over at http://dudeliving.com.
